With Krrish 3 premiering this week, it’s gotten all of my attention and I’ve barely mentioned (but in a random post) that the Dhoom franchise is releasing its triple threat, for the holidays. The film has been thrown around for so long, that I was concerned it may never happen, for the big names touted never seemed to have the time. But finally, at the beginning of this year, a date was set and the villain secured and now only weeks after it’s teaser previewed with Shuddh Desi Romance, the official trailer zoomed in two hours ago in IMAX format (6pm MST). Seems like summer is determined to go out with a bang, given the heat wave saturating my nation and many around the globe. And though it has been fairly uncomfortable, I’ve found ways to stay cool with all the delightful summer romance releases from Dramaland and the Filmsphere. From hot bods to sizzling chemistry, lots of love and action are in store for the next couple months and I plan to soak it all in. But after clapping eyes on the pic above, I also realized there are several visual re-enactments I need to do before this current heat wave dissipates from scorching to shivery.
Over the last couple months, I’ve seen Shuddh Desi Romance bopping around and it immediately caught my attention for two reasons: it’s a Yash Raj Productions romantic comedy and a Parineeti Chopra starrer. Both give me reason to believe this film is worth my time and just might may live up to the moniker of “a romantic comedy that tells it like it is, and is not.”
Plus with its release last week, bringing in nothing but positive chatter and being set to be screened in the Gala Presentation of the Toronto Film Festival, there’s no way I’m passing up this possible gem.
I love mornings– as long as I don’t have to actually get dressed. And now Yash Raj Films has made it even more difficult for me to want to even get out of bed!
As if mugs and movies weren’t enough, now they’ve launched a collection of bed sheets from their most popular films.
As always, it was my intention to write a little ditty about this film much earlier, for I truly believed that this would happen—
It appears that Salman Khan has finally made a film that exemplifies his talent and also stands well in the box office, and by God, there is no one more relieved and excited (at wsp) about this fact as I am!
All stories to screen are not created equal, whether that it’s a film or TV series. We’ve all seen some doozies and gems. And right now, I really can’t tell you what makes me love something. What I can say, is that some films or dramas just look good or at least intrigue me enough to say, “Well I’ll check it out.”
Like I’ve said tons of times, it’s usually an actor that gets to me to even want to view something and this film is no different. In his second movie release this summer, Imran Khan will be starring in Mere Brother Ki Dulhan. From my choti choti (little or small) understanding of Hindi the title translates as My Brother’s Bride. Yea, sounds like fun, right? And if Imran holds true to his stride, his character will be witty, refreshingly boy-next-door and darn likeable. With a stock rom-com film like this one, that’s all I really need.
