As promised, UTV premiered the trailer of Vishal Bharadwaj‘s latest Shakespearean feat Haider on Wednesday July 9th, along with its main cast in attendance, including the director, his wife and the fantastic Kay Kay Menon (Life in a Metro, Sarkar), who also appears in the film in a nefarious role, at PVR Cinemas in Mumbai.
The film is a modern interpretation of Shakespeare’s “Hamlet,” set in the wintry backdrop of Kashmir.

This is the week for releases for just yesterday, there was comedic hero Inspector Singham and today, we have tragic anti-hero Haider, for Vishal Bharadwaj‘s reimagining of “Hamlet” released its first posters’ peek. A couple months ago there were buzz-cut images of a solitary Shahid Kapoor as our first glimpse of him in character, while news of Tabu filming her debut singing spot has been trickling in since the beginning of the month. Filming wrapped completely only days ago, therefore it’s exciting the production has hit the ground running with releases and promotions. On Wednesday, stars Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor will follow Parineeti and Aditya‘s July 7th lead and “take over YouTube” with an all-day exclusive look at the official trailer along with opportunity to interact with the team that made this movie happen.

Anticipation can be exhilarating and waiting for this film has been just that. For with every additional chunk of news concerning this film has just made me want more. The promotion for this film has been going on for awhile, but it has spread far enough that in the end, it’s been just enough, right when I needed it. And unlike most promotional material, I was just as excited as the first time, right up until it’s premiere.
