And as promised just an hour ago, Dharma Productions dropped a full one minute and a half teaser of Karan Johar‘s latest directorial project Ae Dil Hai Mushkil [literal trans. Oh the Heart is Difficult].
*Check it out after the jump—>
I personally found this teaser to do exactly what it was created to do— Make me want more. It certainly feels like an emotional journey and the teaser teases the title quite well. For the phrase can deviate into several concepts within the imagination but this does not seem to be use its words in jest, lazily or lightly.
At the very end, Aayan says, “There is nothing like the power of unrequited love,” and goes on to say that with such love, it isn’t shared but experienced solely. Completely alone. So much can be said about that one line but I look forward to Aayan journeying to this realization. For at times, there are sentiments we understand and recognize immediately and intuitively but take us much longer to reconcile, accept and embrace. And unrequited love can certainly damage great potential if not dealt with properly.
From what we see, he appears to have intense relationships with both women, not to mention the other entanglements our ladies find themselves [Oh hello there, Mr. Fawad Khan!] One thing I found quite interesting about the connections within this snippet is while there are misty eyes and companionship laughter or heady and volatile moments, I didn’t spy much traditional filmy romance.
After seeing this, I can say I’ll be keeping tabs on this one. Until Diwali, that is.
This month, two of my favorite besties, Karan Johar and Kajol Devgn graced the cover of Noblesse India, looking as gorgeous as ever. Kajol never seems to age and becomes more and more beautiful. And while Johar is beginning to wear his age a little more, I find him much more distinguished now, than when I first recognized him as Rahul’s chubby friend in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge.
Even then, these two were well all the way to a lifelong partnership and friendship, and I love seeing them together. Of course, I’d rather see them at a press conference for their newest project but I’ll take what I can get. Last year, marked the 15th Anniversary of Johar’s first film and my all time favorite rom-com Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, therefore, I find it rather poignant, these two show up together in the month of love.

Hasee Toh Phasee opens today and the (positive) reviews are pouring in. Of course, I’m scooping them up and cataloging them away until I watch and write one of my own, but now that we’re so close, I thought I’d share some film stills and thoughts from the actors themselves on their characters, their chemistry and their hopes for the film. And, as luck would have it, the two stars, aren’t the only ones gabbing about the film. Recently their producers (at 43 secs) also sat down with CNN-IBN’s Entertainment Editor, Rajeev Masand, to discuss their unlikely pairing and the inception of what’s being deemed a “quirky love story.” Continue reading One More For Hasee Toh Phasee
When the tracks for the Dharma-Phantom co-production Hasee Toh Phasee began to drop over a month ago, I had a feeling it’d be the final video release that would win me over.
Then “Manchala” officially hit the net on Tuesday and well as always, I was glad I gave it a little time.
***And did I mention how much I adore that official poster?!

With only two days to go, co-stars Parineeti Chopra and Sidharth Malhotra have been busy beavers, what with, snagging the cover of February’s Filmfare Magazine, launching their film’s mobile app last week and now jetting to Dehli—- all to promote their new romantic comedy, Hasee Toh Phasee, co-produced by Karan Johar and Anurag Kashyap.
