There are reimaginings, reinventions adaptations and remakes and though there may not seem to be a huge distinction between any of these, there is a fair difference for story lovers like myself. Of course, I like them all, given the right medium and production but like I always say, not every project is made equal— and at times, they’re nothing more than a dramatic crap shoot.
So with the amount of films that Bollywood churns out per year(hundreds) it’s no wonder at least a third are remakes. I’ve seen several and while some were just as horrible as the originals (U Me Aur Hum) and others didn’t hit the mark (Players, Salaam-e-Ishq), many I have liked just as much (Pyar Hona Hi Tha, Hum Tum) or better (I See You).
But what I’ve found with all Hindi remakes is I’m more prone to give them a chance, for they usually manage to make the worst films, just a tad more entertaining. And at the very least, that is my hope with Siddarth Anand‘s latest Bang Bang.

And the countdown begins people! With the date change (now November 1) came the format change (from 3D to 2D) and now, Krrish 3 is but hours away and as usual, there are images and teasers galore along with behind the scenes photos and press cuts. Hrithik Roshan has been everywhere for the last few weeks sitting down with just about everyone discussing this film, his goals, his health and this projects’ impact on his career. Yesterday, Times Now released their most recent interview with the entire cast and director Rakesh Roshan recorded less than a week ago, where they discuss their excitement, costumes and desire for authentic Indian superheroes. Check out this segment and a few more cast and couple interviews with the actors of Krrish 3 to satiate your anticipation before you head out for the premiere.

Megastar Hrithik Roshan just underwent invasive brain surgery, but that didn’t stop him from attending Krrish 3‘s trailer launch on Monday, August 5th in Mumbai, with his two co-stars Vivek Oberoi and Kangna Ranaut. The film written, directed and produced by Rakesh Rohan, makes his sci-fi fanstasy film, Koi… Mil Gaya (2003) a trilogy tale of a boy and his scientist father, who later turns hero. However, while Krrish was the birth of a (super)hero, Krrish 3 showcases his experimentation with creating a super-villan.

AW YEAUH! There’s a superhero for every season! Summer gave us a darker Superman through Man of Steel and the Fall will bring us closer to understanding Hindi film hero, Krrish. Though the film doesn’t premiere until November, promotions begin now, with a Live Video Chat with its star Hrithik Roshan (Mission Kashmir, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara).
