The Distractors’ Holiday Cut: Countdown with Oppa

Down to the final two and tomorrow begins our first full official week of the 2016!!

For this Oppa, I wonder what a regular work week looks like for him. Many of the Oppas on our list are double dippers—working full time in two arenas but not all are considered charismatic, talented actors. He began as a model and transitioned into acting, which to be honest, I don’t think there’s a camera that doesn’t love him. His screen presence is fiery and he’s able to create characters that are comedic and sexy all wrapped into one.

Whether on the runway or the big or small screen, he commands attention with his confidence and demeanor. Even better, he acts as influence and encouragement to other models like, himself who would like to pursue acting careers.

And if you didn’t know, he’s also a loving father of two, our number two— an Oppa we lovingly call, Cha. Simply, Cha.

New Year Notice: Strutting

Current/Holiday Status: Last seen in MBC sageuk Hwajung; currently awaiting premiere of suspense film Gosanja, Daedongyeojido.

Ekun: Holla for a dolla: Cha Seung-won is in the showa! Or at least that is my prayer and call every single drama or movie I see him in.

Unnichan: Wasn’t that your chant all throughout The Greatest Love? I think that was the year of great shower scenes. I don’t think I ever really cared about shower scenes in the lusty sense until Cha.

Ekun: I did chant that… I chanted so much, I had people at work saying it not even knowing who he is! How much do I love Cha? Let me count the ways: tall, facial hair, sexy voice, great actor, nice body, comedic… Need I say more?

Unnichan: I remember seeing him in City Hall and trying to pinpoint why I was attracted to him. I guess it was D— all the above.

Ekun: I even tried to get a brand of liquor they don’t even sell here because of him! Damn product placement!

Unnichan: Cha Seung-won. *sigh* I think he’s definitely an Oppa that muddles my brain a bit. I mean, you want to form coherent, rational sentences but then…

Ekun: Yeah, I lose my train of thought often with him. Was I the only one cheering for him in that catastrophic Athena? I mean, TVXQ’s song and Cha was the best thing about that mess!

Unnichan: Girl, NO! You know we were in that boat together. He may have had some warped thinking but his character made a whole heck of a lot more sense than that other crap they wanted us to choke down. And then, it was Cha, so I was willing to give him a little extra understanding. But um… Let’s not talk about that TVXQ track. Gives me Mufasa shudders. Come to think of it, there were a few hot Oppas in that drama… Too bad only Cha and Kim Min-jong were even remotely relatable. 

Ekun: Girl not that song! It was another song, not Before you Go aka With Them Singing Like That, My A** Ain’t Going Nowhere. Kekekeke. Loves Cha. That’s all.

Unnichan: Cha. Cha. Cha. Cha. Cha.

Not Our Oppa, but My Oppa: E-kun’s Top 10 Picks:

Cool satin sheets on a warm summer day, hot apple cider with a cinnamon stick on a crisp autumn afternoon, and an electric blanket with favorite book in hand on a winter evening… This is a feeling I get whenever I listen to Wheesung Oppa sing. I am forever in love with his voice. Whether it be for an OST or his own album, his voice carries me fo a far off land created just for me.

This Oppa is not hot or even sexy, but I think he is adorable and precious. I always look forward to hearing his new stuff. And thanks to Apple Music, I will be able to listen to just about all his stuff! One of my favorites has to be his song Time Machine:
