If you love films as much as I do, you find yourself waiting insurmountable amounts of time for film releases. At this point, I’m beginning to believe I enjoy the high of waiting, over the relief of release for when the film finally hits screens, it takes me a few more weeks, even months to get down to viewing.
Gunday, was announced last year, which had my teeny hopes up we’d get a 2013 release but with one half of the main cast in recovery from injury after injury, no such luck. However, finally, we have a release date, the buzz in back up, the editing underway and Gunday is on it’s way early next year.
The film follows the lives of two boys who grow up to be high profile gangsters in the coal industry during 1970’s India.
Cast: Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Irrfan Khan, Sushant Singh
The teaser was released about a week ago and the first thing I noticed was narrator Irrfan Khan, who plays an Intelligence Officer which is an added bonus to the stock this film is working with. I’m a great fan of the entire male cast and can not wait to see them in action together. Both Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor are exhilarating to watch and equally captivating therefore, I’m hoping there’s no hint of split loyalties for these two.
Director Ali Abbas Zafar has film Mere Brother Ki Dulhan under his belt, therefore, I can expect a good sense of comedic timing but given the premise, I’m positive there will be more to think and ponder than laugh about in this saga.
Gunday aims at theaters February 14, 2014.
