Megastar Hrithik Roshan just underwent invasive brain surgery, but that didn’t stop him from attending Krrish 3‘s trailer launch on Monday, August 5th in Mumbai, with his two co-stars Vivek Oberoi and Kangna Ranaut. The film written, directed and produced by Rakesh Rohan, makes his sci-fi fanstasy film, Koi… Mil Gaya (2003) a trilogy tale of a boy and his scientist father, who later turns hero. However, while Krrish was the birth of a (super)hero, Krrish 3 showcases his experimentation with creating a super-villan.
What I enjoyed about this trailer is the promise of progression Krrish’s life, also a bit of backstory and father-son bonding, with the introduction of new characters. This third installment won’t just add a new villain but open up a new world to its characters and its audience.
I have to admit I was hoping for a much glossier look, lifting the notch above the original Krrish but I’ll have to watch the actual film to see if this is a deal breaker in the eyesore department. Overall the film appears to be more than I’d hoped for in the story arena and elevates my expectations ever so slightly from fan watching to possibly theatrically satisfying.
