News: The Hobbit NYC Premiere

Ok, so I know I’m not the only one counting the days till the the premiere of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of Rings prequel The Hobbit. I can’t be! There has been gossip and anticipation for this film for over a year now and last month, the premiere sweep began. Thursday, Ziegfeld Theatre hosted the third premiere of Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. The film isn’t set to release for us regular folks until this Friday, December 14 but the cast and producers graced the States with an opening this past week with a few choice attendees.

Not much happened, of course, besides the viewing and stars from the previous films showing support with red carpet arrivals, but like me, I hope this gets your juices churning for the weekend! The film genre is fantasy, the journey being that of the dwarf and elf kind, therefore, this is a chance to see these talented actors out of characters and without the CG magic, celebrating what could be the most talked about Hollywood film in the coming year.

    1. Freeman has been an all time fav since the original Office. His comedic timing is impeccable. He’s gonna rock as Bilbo. Just the idea that he, Nesbit and Armitage are all sharing the same screen brings such joy to my life.
I’m still trying to figure out how Jackson is setting up the trilogy. Already looking ahead to other films. But no matter what, I know the movies will be beautiful.
And yea, finishing the book is essential. Lol.
